🌿 One Beautiful Act: A Vision for a Flourishing World

Paradise Meadows, British Columbia, watercolour and ink on watercolour paper

Although the world seems like a chaotic and frightening place at the moment, there is a quiet rebellion stirring.  It is not rooted in anger or conquest, but in deep compassion and radiant wholeness. I feel it rising in my heart more and more each day. I am working hard to replace the feelings of frustration, helplessness and fear that stir just beneath my skin. This rising in my heart, it is a yearning to live in a world where we stop pathologising our humanity and start honouring what makes life truly worth living.

What if we began to shape our society not around control, fear, and deficiency, but around psychological health for everyone? Not as a luxury or reward, but as a foundation. What if our institutions, education, business, and government, were designed not to maintain order, but to nurture flourishing?

Imagine education built not on competition or standardised outcomes, but on curiosity, self-discovery, and meaning. A place where children and adults alike are encouraged to ask: Who am I really? What matters most to me? Imagine leaders guiding with empathy and courage, rather than fear and domination. Imagine spirituality unbound from dogma, yet deeply rooted in awe, connection, and transcendence.

This vision is not idealistic, is it? Maybe I am wearing rose-coloured glasses, but I think this vision is necessary. In a world overwhelmed by disconnection and distraction, we must return to what is real: truth, beauty, unity, justice.

Each of us can begin today.

Do one act, a small, quiet act, that has no external reward. Not for money, not for praise, not for progress. Do it simply because it feels beautiful, right, or true.

Smile at someone with no expectation. Water a wilting plant. Write a poem and tuck it into a library book. Or sit in stillness and whisper thank you to the wind.

These are revolutionary acts in a world that forgets how to pause, feel, and care.

Let’s practise daily gratitude, not as a trend, but as a devotion. Let’s cultivate the values that deepen our souls and soften the world: honesty, autonomy, purpose, simplicity, humour, and compassion. My dearest Wild Ones, we are in this together.

These reflections were sparked in part by Abraham H. Maslow’s The Farther Reaches of Human Nature, a book that reminded me that we are not meant to merely survive,we are here to become whole, radiant beings.

And so I ask myself, and I ask you:

🌟 Journal Prompt

What would your life look like if it were built around beauty, truth, unity, and justice? What one small act could you do today that reflects this?

✨ Affirmation

I honour my humanity by choosing one beautiful act each day. I am here to grow, to feel, to love, and to live with purpose.

Let us not be driven by lack or validation, but by a deeper knowing that our lives, our choices, and our kindness matter.

WE MATTER

With warmth and hope for all of us my Wild Ones,
Susanne

Ps. I would love to hear about your beautiful acts, your positive choices, big or small. What made you smile today? Feel free to share below.
